To create a signage system that would meet the NYCDOT's and Transit Authority's performance and appearance standards, Whitco utilized high-impact resins supplied by Bayer Corp.'s Polymers Division.
The bus stop sign's galvanized continuous seam pole was coated with a high-strength, thermal-set polyester finish. As a result, the marker post has a 15-year warranty for corrosion resistance, weatherability, structural failure, and color retention. The inks on the sign and the graffiti-resistant coatings came with a ten-year warranty. At the heart of the signs are engineering plastics supplied by Bayer Plastics.

The bus stop signs are made of co-extruded sheets of Bayer's Lustran™ 752 acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin capped with Centrex 833 weatherable polymer. Lustran™ ABS is a high-gloss, high-impact extrusion grade of resin that provides a superior balance between rigidity and impact strength.

Centrex weatherable polymer is long lasting, rigid, has good impact strength and good resistance to weather aging.

Combined with the expertise of over 25 years ininformational signage, Whitco sign systems are unmatched for sophistication, durability and function. Let Whitco design a transit sign system that is suited to your needs.
